Used for the treatment of leathers (raw or sulfated/sulfited known as Fatliquors) or Textile Lubricants, such as the softening and conditioning of baseball gloves, saddles, horse harnesses and other horse tack.

 

Neatsfoot oil is also applied in the metalworking industries as a cutting fluid for aluminum. For machining, tapping and drilling aluminum, it is superior to kerosene and various water-based cutting fluids.
